Modern Foreign Languages at St John Bosco

Children at St John Bosco learn Spanish from Year 3. The curriculum is language rich and teaches them basic greeting through to detailed studies on World War Two by the time they leave Year 6. The curriculum is sourced from the National Curriculum through the scheme 'Language Angels'.  

Language Angels is an engaging and supportive resource that helps our KS2 children develop their language skills with confidence and enthusiasm. Through a wide range of fun, interactive and age-appropriate activities, pupils build their vocabulary, improve their pronunciation and develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The clear progression within the programme allows children to revisit and build on their knowledge each year, while the variety of activities keeps language learning enjoyable and accessible for all.

Year 2 explored greetings and how to say hello in a variety of European languages.

An exciting morning for our junior classes. We took part in an escape room, musical quizzes, Eurovision and orienteering. We loved exploring language, culture, music, and the history of European countries.
