Year 6 Update22 April 2022 (by stjohnb) |
Dear Parents and Carers
As we complete our first week of the summer term, I would just like to keep you updated with all things Year 6. We are pleased that Mrs Bretherton is making a full recovery after her operation and she is now returning to school in a phased approach. Both Mr Mainwaring and I as you are probably well aware from your children are teaching the class with the support from Mrs Rigby as well as an increasing level of support from Mrs Bretherton. We would like to inform you how pleased we are with your children's effort and all round attitude towards the three weeks we are preparing for their tests. The children will continue to have booster classes on Monday and Tuesday for the next two weeks and their homework will be given out on their usual days and expected to be returned. We have asked that the children use TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed each evening to keep their skills sharp as this will help them to complete their tests. Although your children are being worked quite hard at the moment we are pleased that they seem to be enjoying this challenge and we are certainly pleased with their collective efforts and look forward to engaging in some exciting activities after their tests. The after school clubs are being well attended by both boys and girls and it is important that they used these facilities to develop the whole child. Can I ask that all children get into school for an 8.45am start as work is already prepared for them and we all agree that a good start to the day generally means a happy and productive day.
Thank you for your continued support and we shall inform you of the timetable for the children w.b. 09.05.22
Yours sincerely
Mr D MacAreavy - Headteacher
