Dear Parents and Carers
What beautiful weather for our children to enjoy a final Covid Free Week. Sadly hundreds of Sefton’s Primary children have been asked to isolate and my thoughts go to their families and schools as they would miss out on the exciting activities that are usually planned for this time of year. The children’s sports days although different were fantastic events and the children thoroughly enjoyed the races and activities that the teachers had organised for them. Again the weather was glorious and we even had to use the gazebos to ensure our reception children had shade.
The teachers have planned lots of enjoyable activities and lessons that were able to take place outdoors, taking full advantage of our wonderful facilities.
We welcomed the Year 6 Girls Football Team from St George’s on Wednesday evening to play in the Girls Cup Final. Both teams were a credit to their schools and St John Bosco Girls finally won the match 4-0 and were presented with the Cup and individual medals to add to their League Winners Medals. What a fantastic double for our oldest girls. Well done we are all very proud of your achievements.
Our Year 6 Leavers took delivery of their special hoodies and very smart they look in them. They have presented their performance of The Pirates of the Curry Bean to our children in individual classes for safety. I was entertained by their final performance this morning and was simply amazed at what they had been able to achieve in such a short period of time. They should be very proud of themselves in what has undoubtedly been a difficult year for everyone. I am pleased however that we have as a school tried our best to provide the children with a range of outdoor activities including competitive sports for Year 6 which has helped to keep a semblance of normality.

I can tell you that the children’s classroom doors will open at 8.45am as is the current practice, so please do not come to school too early.
It is likely that face coverings will not be mandatory when we return in September however I would appreciate it if you would continue to wear one for the first week while we assess were we are as a region and also a country.

I wish you a peaceful and enjoyable summer break and would like to thank you all for all your many comments of support, to what has undoubtedly been a difficult year. As a school I can assure you that we have all tried our very best and will continue to do so when we all return to the start of the new school year.
I would like to thank all the teachers and support staff for the dedication and endless hours of extra work that they have put in throughout this year and look forward to welcoming everyone back to school to start what we hope will be a more normal school experience.
Yours sincerely
