Dear Parents and Carers

We have finally made it to the end of the longest term of the school year and I am both proud and delighted that our collective efforts have resulted in our children experiencing minimum disruption and maximum participation in all our school activities. Once again our attendance figures are an excellent indicator of this and I am pleased to inform you that our final week's figure for our school is 97%. Clearly this means that the vast majority of our children are regularly attending school and as a result will benefit greatly from this.

Although I am aware that many of you have suffered and struggled through this difficult period, it must be reassuring to all of us that your children have most certainly not, and whether it be in their classrooms, in their play areas or in their after schools I witness happy and well balanced children who love school and continue to thrive in all aspects of their learning.

This happens because our teaching and support staff continue to go the extra mile as they always do, but this is particularly special as they too have families that may be experiencing challenges. The school continues to look amazing and the provision that we plan and deliver was particularly evident in the four presentation videos that we shared with you recently. I am aware that many of you are in contact with friends and families who are considering a choice of primary school for their children and although I am clearly biased can I ask you to sign post them to our website or the YouTube channels, so that they too may be able to see what their children could enjoy should they choose our school for their children to attend in September 2021. It is important that they are aware that their choices should be made to Sefton Local Authority portal by 15th January 2021 at the latest.

Parking continues to be problematic, and although it is an accepted difficult situation with two schools sharing the same local area, we nevertheless have a responsibilities to set an example to our children and keep them safe. I would like to thank you for responding positively to my requests which may have seemed a little abrupt at times but there really is no excuse for blocking pavements and obstructing access and could I please ask the Junior parents not to congregate around the front school gate as children as we are finding it a potentially dangerous obstruction. It might be a better idea if pet dogs stayed at home.

So that all that remains is for me to once again thank you all for your understanding, patience and support and above all your continued positive comments which are much appreciated. I do hope that you enjoy the virtual Carol Concert that the staff and children have prepared which is available to view on the school website under the classes tab and at the bottom click on 'Virtual Carol Concert'. I think watching these captures everything that we love about our school and although we are far from perfect we shall continue to do the very best that we can in providing the very best rich and exciting curriculum and learning environment for your children.

The children have been fantastic and I hope that you enjoy a peaceful and restful Christmas and manage to focus on the importance of this special and Holy time of year. I look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Monday 4th January 2021 when the class doors will once again open at 8.45am all current arrangements shall remain in place for your convenience.
