Phonics Screening - Message from Mr MacAreavy15 December 2020 (by stjohnb) |
Dear Parents and Carers
The government instructed schools to administer the phonics screening check, which normally takes place when children are in Year 1, by the end of Autumn Term and report back to the Local Authority. Normally we would inform you how your child has performed however have been instructed by the Department for Education not to do this until they have had an opportunity to view and collate National Data. I can however let you know that your children have performed extremely well and we are delighted with their achievements and the support that you have given to your children. I would like to thank all the teachers and support staff in Year 2 for the dedication and effort that they have put into teaching your children and a special mention should go to Miss Cook who has been invaluable in supporting your child's reading development in our Year 2 class. We will feed back your child's individual scores as soon as we are instructed to do so by the Department of Education. I hope you have a happy and peaceful Christmas and thank you all for our wonderful achievements so far this year as a school family.
Yours sincerely
Mr MacAreavy - Headteacher
